The Misfits
When developing the concept for this series I had intended it to be more involved, deep, and conceptual. However, once the images started forming in my head and on screen, they ended up being more whimsical and playful.
This series is about not being able to accept ourselves for our own unique talents and abilities. We often look to the talents of others and wish we could be more like him or her instead of being happy with our own abilities.
For me, this is often music. I love the musical arts, but never had a lot of talent in that area. The series started with the Cellist and the idea that, if I were to play a cello, it would sound like someone was playing it with a hacksaw."
