Director's Note

Theatre makers are storytellers. As directors, we are tasked with interpreting the words of talented playwrights and transforming them from two-dimensional pages into living, breathing, colorful, three-dimensional, temporary realities.

The stories we tell include a wide range of topics from absurdism to true stories; slapstick comedies to gut wrenching dramas; and everything in-between. The one thing they all have in common is the human experience. The stories are based on people, in all of their complicated, diverse, eccentric, illogical, passionate, and confusing glory.

We empathize and connect with the characters in plays because we can see ourselves, our families, our friends, and acquaintances within these characters. We connect with their stories, as they are often parallel with our own. Sometimes we relate to the story, and sometimes we don’t, but there is always the opportunity to connect through the human experience.
